![]() Everything went fine and it asked me to reboot. With all these problems, I thought my Mainboard may be the culprit so I updated it to the lastest available BIOS. ![]() Phew! Went to recovery console thing and did the "bootcfg /rebuild" then I could boot to Windows and did everything like normally. I chose the fist 1 and setup windows appeared as normal. After freezing at the message for over 10 minutes, a strange window came up telling me Windows setup could not detect type of my computer and asked me to select either "Standard PC with C-Step i486" or "Others". I almost gave up and just put Windows XP setup in and tried again. Tried all kinds of boot CD such as DOS, Norton Ghost, Windows Vista but nothing could boot. and left only 1 HDD with CD-ROM drive but same problem. Stripped all the unnecessary devices such as RAID card, extra harddrives, FDD, USB add-in card. Tried another reboot and pressed F5 as soon as that message came up but no luck. I waited for 5 minutes but it kept freezing right there. It stopped at "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration". Hard reboot with Windows XP setup CD in the CD-ROM tray. ![]() Found a suggestion to run "bootcfg /rebuild" on the Net so I thought I would give it a try. Computer refused to boot after dualboot menu screen ( have XP and Vista on 2 different HDDs) and display the ntrnl error or something like that. So i decided to install skype to be able to talk with friends. I have to switch to desktop for all the computer needs. My laptop decided not to display anything on the screen even all power and HDD, wireless lights are on. ![]()
